The appreciation of RON versus the EURO is a good thing for those with EURO loans at the bank, but less good for exporters, said Prime Minister Victor Ponta at the beginning of the Government meeting.
“It’s a good thing for those who have to repay their loans, be it individuals or companies. However, it’s less good for exporters, but importantly it sends a message of confidence in Romania and in its stability”, said the Prime Minister.
RON appreciated on Monday versus the EURO by 1.42 bani (0.33 percent), the National Bank announcing an exchange rate of RON 4.3224 for one EURO, after on Friday it stood at RON 4.3366 / EURO. This is the highest level of the national currency against the EURO in the past 16 months, in conditions in which, on January 4, 2012, NBR displayed an exchange rate of RON 4.3219 / EURO.AGERPRES
