‘Weekend cross-promotion’ – a novelty in Romania’s seaside high season this year

A new form of attracting tourists to the Romanian seaside this year will be the “weekend cross-promotion” whereby we pursue the mutual promotion of travel destinations, as we organize shows with DJs from Miami, Dubai, Hong Kong and Milan, informs a release of the Seaside – Danube Delta Association sent to Agerpres.

We officially opened the 2013 Seaside Season in the Mangalia Tourist Port, in the south of the littoral. This year, we, the Seaside – Danube Delta Association, plan to focus on promoting the southern seaside resorts. The resorts that top the preferences of Romanian tourists were Mamaia, Vama Veche and Costinesti and the novelty this summer could be the ‘weekend cross-promotion,’ meaning that the clubs in Mamaia will host performances by DJs from Miami, Dubai, Hong Kong and Milan, thus promoting two destinations at the same time,” said president of the Seaside – Danube Delta Association Corina Matei.

On the occasion of the May 1 mini-vacation the Association organized the “Romanian Seaside Parade” on the Constanta – Cumpana – Mangalia – Eforie – Constanta – Mamaia route, with dozens of vintage cars, participants in the Delta Rally, off-roadsters, aerograph painted cars and double-decker tourist buses joining the procession. Dozens of tourists accompanied the convoy.

Data released by the National Tourism Authority shows that on May 1 more than 30,000 tourists had hit the Romanian seaside and another 10,000 are expected to arrive by the end of the week.AGERPRES
