Romanian national radio broadcaster’s drama Suzana wins bronze at New York International Radio Festival

Radio play Suzana produced by the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation (SRR) has been declared the Bronze Radio Winner at this year’s edition of the New York International Radio Festival.

06181541708045579SRR reports in a press release issued on Tuesday that the jury, made up of 20 personalities, had to choose from among the productions registered by 35 countries and for the first round it selected eight titles: one from Germany; one from Hong Kong; two from Ireland; one from Mexico; two from the UK and one form Romania.

Representing Romania at the awards gala on June 17 at the Manhattan Penthouse of New York was Simona Miculescu, ambassador with Romania’s Permanent UN Mission.

Suzana, written by Ilinca Stihi inspired by Werner Herzog, has also won the 2013 prize of the Union of Romanian Theatres (UNITER) for the best radio play of the year and the 3rd place at the Prix Marulic International Festival in Croatia. AGERPRES
