Romania’s junior team has won six medals – two gold and four silver ones – at the 17th edition of the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad, held in Turkey (Antalya) June 21 to 26, with Romania topping the unofficial ranking of participating nations, the Ministry of National Education informs in a press release for AGERPRES.
The gold medals were won by Laurentiu Ioan Ploscaru (a 9th grader/ the “Alexandru Lahovari” National College in Ramnicu Valcea) and Andrei Teodor Andronache (a 9th grader/ the International Computer Science High School of Bucharest).
The two standout pupils repeated their last year’s performance when they won the gold medals in Greece.
The silver medals were won by the following students: Andrei Pasa (an 8th grader /the National College of Iasi), Filip Ion (8th grade / No. 56 Secondary School of Bucharest), Cristian Teleanu (9th grade / the “Ovidiu” High School of Constanta) and Ciprian-Mircea Bonciocat (7th grade / the “Tudor Vianu” National College of Bucharest).AGERPRES
