The Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Romania will benefit from several advantages in 2014, among which is the possibility for them to take out low-interest loans, as a result of a 20-million-Swiss franc grant received from the Government of Switzerland, SME and Tourism Minister Maria Grapini said, in Timisoara.

‘The Romanian Government has managed to sign an agreement with the Swiss Government, under which our country will receive 20 million francs that will enter the SME funding system. Adding to this amount will be an equivalent sum in lei from the Romanian Government. Each SME will be allowed to take out 100,000 Swiss francs against a very low interest rate, because the money is donated to the Romanian state under an agreement with the Swiss state,’ the minister told a press conference.
Grapini also announced that her 2013 activity report would be completed next week, and pointed out among her achievements the urgent sending to Parliament of the SME Law, which should have taken effect in 2011.
Maria Grapini informed that as of January 15, 2014, companies would receive 100,000 euros for an investment project, of which 10% represents funding from the company, under the draft law through which the Government funds the minimis scheme.AGERPRES
