Romania had over 20,121 million inhabitants, in October 2011 (Census)

Romania’s stable population was 20,121,641 people, on October 20, 2011, of whom 10,333,064 women (51.4 percent) show the final results of the Population and Housing Census – 2011, published on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). According to INS, compared to the situation found out at the previous census, the stable population decreased by 1,559,300 persons, of whom 779,200 women, mainly due to external migration. Statistics show that 1,883,400 people were living in Bucharest. Traces of crested Pterosaurus found in Transylvania

Managers expecting summer growth in construction, retail trading, manufacturing and services

Romanian pupils win gold, silver medals at Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad

European Council closes excessive deficit procedures for Romania

US Lufkin Industries opens 140 million-US-dollar facility in Romania

A plant of oil drilling components and systems opened at Aricestii Rahtivani, Prahova County (southern Romania), in the privately-owned Ploiesti West Park as a facility of US company Lufkin Industries, on a 140-million-US-dollar investment. Data released by Lufkin officials indicate that the facility covers 330,000 square metres comprising a plant equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies as well as a modern maintenance and repair workshop.
